Jimmies Offense Fires on All Cylinders in Win Over Cougars

Jamestown, ND— The University of Jamestown Men's Basketball team delivered a commanding performance at Harold Newman Arena, defeating the Sioux Falls Cougars 87-73. The Jimmies utilized a balanced offensive attack and a clinical perimeter game to secure the home victory.

QUARTER-BY-QUARTER FLOW (HALVES)

1st Half: Jimmies Establish Early Control (Jamestown leads 48-35)
Jimmies came out to a hot start. Anthony Walters set the tone early with a layup at the 19:42 mark followed by a three-pointer just over a minute later. Ford Okehi sparked a run with a triple at 19:07 and a jumper at 17:22 to keep the pressure on. Owen Hektner buried a clinical three-pointer with 18:10 remaining in the half to extend the lead 11-2. Zeke Austin provided a major spark off the bench, hitting two triples late in the half at the 6:47 and 4:12 marks to make the game 39-27. Cole Glasgow capped off the dominant half with a layup with 36 seconds remaining to ensure a 13-point cushion at the break.

2nd Half: Jimmies Takes Over (Jamestown wins half 39-38 and game 87-73)
Anthony Walters remained unstoppable, converting a tip-in and free throw at 18:12 followed by three separate three-pointers
between the 13:02 and 11:14 marks to give the Jimmies a ten point lead 62-52. Owen Hektner connected from deep with 15:30 left to play, keeping the Cougars at arm's length. The Cougars were not going down without a fight and with a tip in from Brandon Hrncir came within six points 59-52 but Cole Glasgow maintained the tempo with a layup and free throw at the 9:47 mark to keep the advantage in double digits. Thomas Diew remained efficient on the interior, hitting two free throws at 5:59 and a jumper with 2:36 remaining to maintain the lead and finally Ford Okehi iced the game with a three-pointer at the 1:48 mark to secure the 14-point victory.

KEY STATISTICS

Field Goal Percentage (FG%): Jamestown shot 52.5% (32-for-61) from the floor.

Three-Point Shooting: The Jimmies were lethal from distance, connecting on 12-of-28 (42.9%) attempts.

Paint Presence: Jamestown recorded 32 points in the paint and won the turnover battle, forcing 11 miscues.
