Who or what inspired you to start playing basketball growing up? 

• My grandpa was a basketball coach, so he got me into the game.              

Do you have any pregame superstitions or routines? 

• Just listen to music.

Tell us about your favorite basketball moment as a player or fan? 

• My senior season of high school.

Who is your favorite basketball player? 

• Lebron James 

What is one talent you have outside the game of basketball? 

• Fishing 

What do you hope every Jimmie fan says after they see our team play? 

• Those guys really care about each other.

Why did you choose UJ and what do you like about being a Jimmie student- athlete? 

• I chose UJ because I felt like the basketball program was heading in the right direction. I like the sense of community and inclusion that comes with being a student athlete here.

High School Team Awards/ High School Individual Awards

Owen had a standout high school basketball career at Fargo Davies, helping lead his team to a 25-2 record and an EDC runner-up finish, along with a top-four state tournament appearance in 2019-20. The following season, he guided the team to a 19-6 record and another EDC runner-up finish. Owen was named All-EDC and earned Second Team All-State honors, averaging 13.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game as a junior. He posted career highs of 30 points and 10 rebounds.
