Jamestown, ND— The University of Jamestown Men's Basketball team secured a thrilling overtime victory, defeating the (RV) Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs 74-71 at Harold Newman Arena. After trailing late in regulation, the Jimmies displayed incredible resilience, capped off by a game-winning shot in the extra period. The win improves Jamestown's record to 10-11 overall and 8-7 in the NSIC.

1st Half: Jimmies Establish Early Control (Jamestown leads 39-28)
Owen Hektner opened the Jamestown scoring with a three-pointer at the 19:12 mark to tie the game early. Anthony Walters sparked a major run with a three-pointer at 12:47 and another at 7:37 to help build a double-digit cushion. Ford Okehi remained hot from distance, connecting on a triple with 8:31 remaining to push the lead to 23-18. The Jimmies closed the half strong as Carson Woodford converted a jumper with 1:30 left, securing an 11-point advantage at the intermission.
2nd Half: Mustangs Battle Back (SMSU wins half 41-30)
Thomas Diew energized the crowd early in the second frame, throwing down a dunk with 15:33 remaining to keep the Jimmies ahead 44-36. Zeke Austin extended the lead to 47-38 with a critical three-pointer at the 11:55 mark. Henry Meyer contributed late, hitting a three-pointer with 9:31 left to play to maintain a double-digit edge at 54-41. It was a three point buzzer beater from SMSU Mekhi Shaw who sent the game to overtime with :02 seconds left in the 2nd half. Southwest Minnesota State mounted a furious comeback late, outscoring the Jimmies 41-30 in the half to force the extra period at 69-69.
Overtime: Walters Sinks the Winner (Jamestown wins OT 5-2)
Cole Glasgow tied the game up (71-71) for the Jimmies with a jumper at the 2:15 mark in the extra period. It was then, Anthony Walters delivered the definitive blow, burying a three-pointer with just 5 seconds remaining to ice the victory.
