JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The University of Jamestown women's hockey team dropped its home opener to Midland University, 3-0, Friday afternoon at John L. Wilson Arena.
The Warriors got on the board with a power-play goal by Ashlyn Kuffler at the 4:24 mark of the first period. The score remained 1-0 until late in the second, when Midland capitalized on another power play, as Taylor Bell scored to extend the lead to 2-0 with just over 11 minutes into the period. The final goal of the game came late in the second period by Jadis Howden, making the score 3-0.
Jamestown's Maddie Sylvestre made 23 saves while Midland's Meghan Stewart stopped all 16 shots she faced.
The Jimmies will look to bounce back as they face Midland again on Saturday at John L. Wilson Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
