MINOT, N.D.—The fourth-ranked University of Jamestown women's volleyball team remained unbeaten with a pair of sweeps on Friday at the MSU Dome. The Jimmies defeated Brandon University and Minot State University, improving to 8-0.

JAMESTOWN 3, BRANDON 0
- The Jimmies were down 8-5 in the first set, then won 10 of the next 14 points to take a 15-12 lead. Brandon got as close as two points before UJ went on a 6-0 run to build a comfortable lead. Another big run in the second set (10-0) brought Jamestown back from being down 15-14 to up 24-15. In the third set, the Jimmies rebounded from hitting (-.026) as a team with a .226 mark with only three errors to complete the sweep. An 11-3 run gave Jamestown a 17-9 lead, and the Bobcats would get no closer than five points the rest of the way.
- UJ hit .105 for the match with 30 kills and 18 errors on 114 attacks. Brandon hit (-.018) in the match with 23 kills and 25 errors on 110 attacks.
- Charlee Krieg paced the Jimmie offense with 10 kills and hit .500. Aleah Zieske and Lexi Olson added four kills each.
- Lily Bertsch had 14 assists and was 10-for-10 from the service line while Tenley Buddenhagen finished with 11 assists.
- Ellie Holen led the defense with 12 digs and had a perfect 12-for-12 match at the service line. Karlie Anderson had two solo blocks (three total), and Olson recorded seven digs and five service aces.
JAMESTOWN 3, MINOT STATE 0
- The Jimmies gradually pulled away in the first set against Minot State, using a 4-0 run to take a 20-16 lead before settling for a 25-22 win. Set two was nowhere as close as the opener. After UJ raced out to a 10-5 lead, the next eight points went the way of the Jimmies, and the Beavers would eventually trail by as many as 16 down the stretch. In the deciding third set, an MSU serving error began a stretch of five straight UJ points that proved to be the difference. The Beavers got as close as 24-21 before Charlee Krieg's kill ended the set and the match.
- Jamestown finished with a .171 hitting percentage while Minot State hit .082 overall. UJ had a 37-24 advantage in kills and both teams made 16 attack errors.
- Aleah Zieske had 9 kills with Krieg and Charlotte Lempka right behind her with 7.
- Tenley Buddenhagen and Lily Bertsch each passed out 16 assists.
- Ellie Holen finished with 16 digs. Lexi Olson had five block assists, followed by Zieske and Karlie Anderson with two each.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- UJ and Minot State met for the first time since October 3, 2011, in Minot. The Jimmies are 6-1 in their last seven matches against the Beavers dating back to 2009.
