Sioux Falls, S.D. – The University of Jamestown men's basketball team played a close game with the MSU Mankota Mavericks on Friday afternoon. Jimmy Llinas earned a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds in the Jimmies 80-85 loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Llinas started the game with four straight points, and the Mavericks quickly responded with 10, with help from three Justin Eagins three-pointers. Cole Glasgow slowed the Mavericks run with the first Jimmie three of the night.
- The Jimmies struggled to score in the next few minutes and were outscored three to ten, giving the Mavericks their largest lead of the half (23-13).
- Hunter Lyman ended the Jimmie drought with two made free throws, and Ayden Stainbrook followed with one behind the arc and a layup to get the Jimmies within three.
- Silas Bennion scored two, and Spencer Barr executed on an and-one to put the Jimmies in the lead with 8:49 on the clock. The Mavericks came back with more three-point jumpers to lead by four two minutes later.
- An Anthony Walters three put the Jimmies behind 35-36 with three minutes to go in the half. In the last minutes, the Jimmies and Mavericks each scored seven, leaving the Jimmies one point behind to start the second half.
- The Jimmies were outscored 38-42 in the second half, and their only lead came from a Llinas layup in the first 10 seconds.
- The Mavericks managed a double-figure lead of 65-55 nine minutes in, but the Jimmies chipped away at points to tie them 76-76 with 2:16 to go. Unable to turn the tie into a lead, the Jimmies took the hard-fought loss, 80-85.
- Walters (12), Bennion (11), Glasgow (10), and Stainbrook (10) scored in double figures along with Llinas. Bennion passed out six assists, and Llinas had four blocks.
