Salina, Kan. – The University of Jamestown women's basketball team opened their season on November 1 with a 90-76 win against Bethel College. Kate Cordes led the Jimmies with 32 points and five assists. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Jimmies started the game hot, gaining a 14-0 lead to Bethel. Bethel ended the Jimmies run with eight straight points. As the teams battled for points, the Jimmies managed to stay ahead and ended the first period up 20-17. 
• Ten points from Kate Cordes and triple threes from Sarah Lenz assisted the Jimmies to a 41-22 lead five minutes into the second period. Hannah Hagel, Megan Oswald, and Samantha Paulsen added points to put the Jimmies at 51 points to end the half. 
• Down by double-digits, Bethel fought to put points on the board, but the Jimmies only extended their lead to 26 points by the end of the third. 
• The Jimmies reserves entered the game in the fourth period. Savannah Hedin led them with nine points, and the Jimmies finished the game with a notable 90 points to Bethel's 67. 

FOR THE JIMMIES

• The Jimmies were 50.7% on field goals. 
• The Jimmies had 15 steals. 
• Kate Busek and Hagel each grabbed five rebounds. 
• Cordes shot 50% from the three-point line. 

FOR THE THRESHERS

• Kendall Locke had 25 points. 
• Locke and Carley Robb each had six rebounds.
