University of Jamestown men's and women's head golf coach Zach Hale is resigning to take a job as the Director of Amateur Competitions with the Kentucky Golf Association.
"Zach has done a great job continuing to build the University of Jamestown golf programs, said UJ Director of Athletics Austin Hieb. "We are thankful for the time and effort he has put in over the last three and a half years and we wish him nothing but the best as he continues his career in the golf industry. We know he'll do a great job for the Kentucky Golf Association."
Hale was named head coach prior to the 2020-2021 season and led the Jimmies to a combined five top-six Great Plains Athletic Conference finishes, including a second-place finish for the Jimmie women in 2020-21.
Ten players earned all-conference honors during Hale's time at UJ, and 18 were named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
"While I am excited for this next venture in my life, I am sad to leave such a great group of young women and men along with a terrific university and community," Hale said. "It has been a sincere honor leading the golf programs and being a part of the Jimmie family for 3 ½ years, and I will miss it dearly."
A national search will begin immediately to find Hale's successor at UJ.
