HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Jimmies started the game with a 6-0 run against the Chargers. With the Jimmies leading 9-2, the Chargers put up five quick points to get within two.
- Two points was the closest the Chargers got to the Jimmies. The Jimmies only allowed three more Charger points while they put up 13 to end the first quarter ahead 22-12.
- Kate Cordes scored twice outside the arc to start the second quarter for the Jimmies. The Chargers responded with five points, but two from Audrey Rodakowski and another three from Cordes forced a Charger timeout.
- Jimmies scored first out of the timeout and Kate Cordes sank her fourth three of the quarter. The Jimmies led 33-19 with four minutes to go.
- Chargers scored eight more points and the Jimmies scored 10 to end the half ahead 43-27.
- The Chargers started to come back in the third and got within 10 in the first three minutes and within eight in the next minute.
- However, the Jimmies did not allow them to find a lead. The third ended 53-45.
- The teams battled in the fourth as the Chargers fought for the comeback. With 5:28 left of the game they got within five points (58-53).
- Thirteen of the Jimmies last 15 points were from free throws. The chargers scored 15 more as well, but it wasn't enough to catch up. The Jimmies won 73-68.
FOR THE JIMMIES
- Cordes and Rodakowski led with 19 points.
- Kia Tower added 15 points and Jailyn Martinson added 12.
- Rodakowski added 12 rebounds for a double double.
- Cordes went 5-5 outside the arc.
FOR THE CHARGERS
- Kennedy Benne led with 23 points.
- Payton Slaughter grabbed seven rebounds.
