SEWARD, Neb.-- The 4x800 meter relay team of Corbin Cornelius, Micah Hoke, David Martin, and Landon Thompson finished sixth, and Connor Smith earned All-Conference honors with a seventh-place finish in the heptathlon as the GPAC Championships concluded Saturday evening.
The relay team ran a time of 8:18.43, finishing 15.25 seconds ahead of Morningside (Iowa), and just 2.29 seconds behind Dordt (Iowa).
Smith turned in a career performance in the heptathlon, finishing with 4216 points to beat his previous best of 3892 points. He set personal records in nine of the ten events, with his top places coming in the high jump (5th) and 1000m (5th).
New personal bests were set by Josef Cordero (pole vault), Kaden Jensen (long jump, triple jump), Jorden Morales (shot put), and Bryson Tripp (heptathlon)
