HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Fighting Saints controlled the first quarter scoring 14 points to the Jimmies two.
- Kate Cordes opened up the second quarter with a three and a jumper to get the Jimmies points rolling. Halfway into the second, the Jimmies went on an 11-0 run to end the half tied 20-20 with the Saints.
- A tight game was held between the teams in the third quarter. The Saints took a lead of six four minutes in, but a Kate Busek three put the Jimmies right back in it.
- With one minute to play, the Saints made two sets of free throws and a layup to lead 37-32. A last second jumper by Hannah Hagel put the Jimmies behind only three to end the third.
- The Saints went on a 12-2 run to start the third, leaving the Jimmies behind 36-49. Kia Tower added two and a steal leading to a Samantha Paulsen layup to get within nine.
- The Jimmies got as close as five points due to a Cordes three at 19 seconds left. However, those were the last points for the Jimmies while the Saints made free throws to win 58-51.
FOR THE JIMMIES
- Cordes led points for the Jimmies with 16. She also grabbed 10 rebounds for a double-double.
- Tower followed with 13 points and was just shy of a double-double with 9 rebounds.
FOR THE FIGHTING SAINTS
- Jamie Pickens led the Fighting Saints with 16 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double.
