SIOUX CITY, Iowa-- The 12th-ranked University of Jamestown women's volleyball team improved to 7-2 in road matches with a four-set victory over Briar Cliff University Friday evening. Set scores were 23-25, 25-15, 25-15, 25-15.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Briar Cliff trailed 5-2 in the first set before taking six straight points and seven of the next eight to build a 9-6 lead.
- Jamestown was able to the set on six different occasions but never got back into the lead.
- After Charlee Krieg's kill made it 23-23, BCU won the final two points for a 1-0 match lead.
- The Jimmies rallied from an 11-10 deficit to post a double-digit win in set two. Darienne Johnson's kill brought UJ level, and Krieg put the Jimmies in front to stay.
- BCU got as close as 13-13 but Jamestown won four straight points, and then closed out the set with eight of the last ten.
- A 12-2 start to the third set helped the Jimmies take another 25-15 victory. The Chargers got as close as 17-10 before UJ won three straight to open up a double-digit lead.
- In the fourth set, Jamestown held a 13-10 lead, which grew to 16-10 after a kill by Paige Oswald and back-to-back Briar Cliff attack errors.
- BCU got as close as 19-15, then Logan Sherman's kill ignited a 6-0 match-closing run.

- Toria Andre and Sami Wasmund each had eight kills and three total blocks.
- Yenne Schepers had 22 assists, and Avery Beller recorded 16 digs.
