Who or what inspired you to start playing basketball growing up? 

  • Watching college basketball on TV at a young age.           

Tell us about your favorite basketball moment as a player or fan? 

  • Playing in Kansas City at the NAIA national tournament. 

Who is your favorite basketball player? 

  • Kyrie Irving 

What is one talent you have outside the game of basketball? 

  • Cooking 

What do you hope every Jimmie fan says after they see our team play? 

  • We play the game the right way.

Why did you choose UJ and what do you like about being a Jimmie student- athlete? 

  • I chose UJ because of the great basketball program and the support from the community. 

2023-2024 (Junior at University of Jamestown) 

Silas was the Jimmies leading scoring averaging 18 ppg. Bennion shot 50% from the field and 42.6% from beyond the arc. Bennion’s season high was 38 points against Dickinson State on Nov. 10. He surpassed 1000 career points. Silas and was a first team all-conference selection in the GPAC.  

2022-2023 (Sophomore at Lewis - Clark State College) 

Silas started 29 games during the season, leading LC State in both assists (102) and steals (38). He ranked third on the team in scoring, averaging 9.8 points per game, and contributed 4.6 rebounds per game. Silas made 101 field goals with a .437 shooting percentage and knocked down 30 three-pointers at a .333 clip. He shot 68.4 percent from the free-throw line, going 52-for-76. He ranks 10th all-time in career assists at LC State with 263.  

2021-2022 (Freshman at Lewis-Clark State College) 

In the 2021-22 season as a freshman, Silas Bennion started 28 games. He led the team in both assists (111) and steals (33), while averaging 8.8 points per game. Silas made 81 field goals, including 26 three-pointers, shooting .349 from the field and sinking 59 free throws. He also contributed 5.1 rebounds per game.  

Personal 

Silas is the son of Don and Dana. He is a business administration major and will graduate in May.
