Get to Know Cole ...
Who or what inspired you to start playing basketball growing up?
- Just the love for the game, growing up I always had a basketball in my hands, shooting in the driveway, and playing outside with my friends. My parents as well, pushed me to become a better player everyday which increased my love for the game.
Do you have any pregame superstitions or routines?
- Usually, I try to get a 30 minute nap a few hours before the game if I can.
Tell us about your favorite basketball moment as a player or fan?
- It has to be winning the Iowa Basketball State tournament my senior year, and having amazing support from my hometown community. Also being able to continue to play at the college level.
Who is your favorite basketball player?
- Kobe Bryant, Steph Curry, and Devin Booker.
What is one talent you have outside the game of basketball?
- Very high level Call of Duty player.
What do you hope every Jimmie fan says after they see our team play?
Why did you choose UJ and what do you like about being a Jimmie student- athlete?
- Choosing UJ was a decision primarily made because of Coach Bruggeman, his belief in me as a basketball player allows me to play up to my highest potential. Being a Jimmie student-athlete has been great, I love how close-knit the team is already.
High School
Cole had an outstanding career at Dallas Center-Grimes High School, finishing with a 63-30 record and making two state tournament appearances, including winning a state championship. As a 4-year starter, he earned All-Conference honors all four years and was a 3-time All-State selection. Cole surpassed 1,000 career points as a junior and became DCG's all-time leading scorer during his senior year.

Cole is the son of Tyler and Julie. He is majoring in business with a emphasis in IT.
