Why did you choose UJ and what do you like about being a Jimmie student- athlete?
- I chose UJ because of the successful basketball program and the graduate school opportunities for physical therapy. As a Jimmie student-athlete, I really appreciate the support athletes receive from the school and community.
2023-2024 (Senior at University of Jamestown)
Will started all 26 games for the Jimmies. He averaged 11.7 points per game while dishing out 3 assists a game. Cordes had a season high of 26 points at Dakota Wesleyan on Nov. 26. He was a honorable mention for the GPAC all- conference team.
2022-2023 (Junior at University of Jamestown)
Cordes played 29 games for the Jimmies. While averaging 12.3 points per contest and 2.3 assists. He shot 37.9% from beyond the arc. Will was a GPAC second team all-conference selection and helped lead the Jimmies to the Sweet 16 in Kansas City.
2021-2022 (Sophomore at University of Jamestown)
Will averaged a career high of 13.3 ppg. He shot 44.4% from the field and 41.4% from deep. Cordes averaged 2.1 assists per game. Cordes would be named a second team all-conference selection and would help the Jimmies to the Sweet 16.
2020-2021 (Freshman at University of Jamestown)
Will averaged 8.4 points on 43.4% shooting from the field. Cordes shot 90.6% from the free throw line. He played in 31 games for the Jimmies and was named an GPAC all conference Honorable mention. Cordes would help the Jimmies to an Elite 8 matchup in Kansas City.
High School
Will had an impressive basketball career at Shakopee High School, serving as a 3-time team captain and setting the single-season free throw percentage record. A 1,000-point scorer, he also ranked 3rd all-time in assists for the program. Cordes helped lead his team to a conference championship and a section finalist appearance, while also contributing to the team setting the season free throw percentage record.
Personal
Will is the son of Jason and Beth. Will is majoring in Exercise Science, with plans to attend UJ Physical Therapy School in Fargo next year.
