Mark Hoge profile (Mar. 1, 2014)

Mark Hoge

Mark Hoge is a 6'3" senior from Ironton, Minnesota. What triggered him to come to Jamestown was the "program's success. I played for a High School that is known for winning, wanted to continue that feeling."

Mark is majoring in Mass Communications, minoring in Psychology, and is currently working as an SID intern for the Jimmies. His goal after graduation is to "To move on to the next level to get that big contract."

Here is a video Mark Hoge made: Click for Video

He comments on his life as a Jimmie as follows, "A life of a Jimmie is a successful one on and off the court."

Hoge's role model is his oldest brother John because Mark grew up copying his every move.

His favorite food is anything his mom makes, and he also likes the sport of baseball.

His favorite assistant coach is Coach Neville.

Jimmie Nation, listen up, because Mark Hoge says, "Keep #EATING!"

Other than eating more, Hoge gives the following quote for inspiration from Michael Jordan to all willing to listen, "If you're trying to achieve, there will be roadblocks. I've had them; everybody has had them. But obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it."

Here is the senior night script (Feb. 19, 2014) for Mark Hoge: "Mark Hoge is a 4-year letter winner at The University of Jamestown. In addition to having amassed a record of 75-36 in his career at Jamestown, he has been a major piece to a team in 2012 that reached a #7 ranking nationally, earned a Dakota Athletic Conference Championship, and a NAIA national tournament appearance. In 2013, Mark helped lead the Jimmies back to Branson, earning his 2nd straight national tournament bid. Mark earned 1st team all-conference recognition, as well as 2nd team All-American status. Mark has continued to lead during his senior campaign, having twice earned conference player of the week awards.

Mark currently sits in 9th on the Jamestown all-time scoring list at 1,428 points. Mark has a great chance to enter in to an exclusive Jamestown club by ending his career with 1500 points, 500 rebounds & 250 assists.

Mark's passion for the game of basketball is not only evident every night on the court, but is also evident to his teammates on a daily basis in practice. At the end of his career, Mark will go down as one of the best to put on a Jimmie uniform, and his passion and drive to succeed will take him far in life. He will graduate next December with a degree in mass communications.

Mark is from Ironton, MN and is escorted by his parents Paul & Barb Hoge.

Please join us in thanking Mark for his commitment to The University of Jamestown and the Jimmie basketball program.

Mark, thank you and good luck the remainder of the season."
