BISMARCK, N.D. — The University of Jamestown women's golf team earned a second-place finish at the United Printing Marauders Invitational, hosted by the University of Mary at Hawktree Golf Club.
FINAL RESULTS
As a team, the Jimmies posted a two-round score of 117-over 693 (350-343), placing them behind tournament champion Minot State University, who finished at 91-over 667 (337-330). The University of Mary took third place with a score of 121-over 697 (348-349), while Alexandria Technical & Community College (133-over 709; 352-357) and Valley City State (184-over 760; 387-373) rounded out the top five.
Leading the way for the Jimmies were
Ellie Garavaglia and
Kacie Rexin, who tied for third place on the individual leaderboard. Both golfers finished with a total score of 22-over 166 for the tournament. Garavaglia (84-82) shot 12-over in the first round and improved with a 10-over in round two. Rexin (85-81) posted a 13-over in the opening round and followed up with a 9-over on day two.
Mylee Michel contributed to the team's strong showing, tying for 13th place with a final score of 37-over 181 (91-90).
Kyndall Peterson finished 16th overall, shooting 38-over 182 (92-90), while
Lyla McCasson placed 17th with a total of 39-over 183 (90-93).
Competing as an individual for the Jimmies,
Emma Ketterling finished 23rd overall, posting a two-round score of 53-over 197 (96-101).
Minot State's Emily Watts captured the individual title, finishing with a score of 9-over 153 (79-74) for the tournament.
The Jimmies return to the links on October 5-6 for the Battle in the North, hosted by Minot State University at Beowulf Golf Club in Minot, N.D.
