Jamestown, N.D. – The (RV) University of Jamestown women's volleyball team will embark to the Minnesota Northwoods for their first NSIC road weekend where they will play Bemidji State University on Friday, then No. 23 University of Minnesota Duluth on Saturday.

The Teams
After taking down Minnesota State University Moorhead and the University of Minnesota Crookston at home last weekend, the Jimmies move to 9-1 overall with a 2-0 NSIC record. Jamestown had a bit of a rough start against Moorhead with the Dragons taking the first set, but the Jimmies got back into the swing of things late in the second set, winning three set unanswered to defeat the Dragons in four. Against Crookston the Jimmies were in control for the entire match. Not once did UJ trail in any set and they swept the Golden Eagles with scores of 25-10, 25-10, and 25-19. Against Crookston,
Gracie Adamson led the Jimmies with seven kills while
Caroline Puetz had four blocks and
Sophie Ketterling posted 13 digs. The Jimmies hit a season-best .326 (33-5-86) their last time out.
Adamson leads Jamestown with 3.64 kills per set which also ranks third in the NSIC. She also has 3.52 digs per set, putting her 11
th in the conference. Lempka has an attacking percentage of .400 (76-20-140) with ranks seventh in the league. Puetz averages 2.29 kills per set, and has 36 blocks (.95 per set). Ketterling currently tops the NSIC and is ninth in D-II volleyball with 5.55 digs per set.
On Friday, the Jimmies will play a red-hot Bemidji State team who is 10-0 and 2-0 in the conference. BSU is one of seven undefeated teams remaining in Division-II, and the only team in the NSIC without a loss yet. The Beavers went 4-0 at the Marauders First Serve Invitational hosted by the University of Mary, then 4-0 again at the Fall Cougar Classic over at California State University San Marcos. Bemidji State kept rolling in NSIC play after that with road sweeps at Minot State University and UMary. Against the Marauders, the Beavers finished with a season-high .433 attacking percentage (51-9-97) with Ava Athman posting 16 kills on .560 attacking (16-2-25). Nevaeh Carlson had 16 kills as well.
It's a completely new-look Bemidji State team with the Beavers owning just seven wins from 2025 and a 4-16 conference record. Not much was expected from BSU either, with the team projected to finish 13
th in the NSIC in the Volleyball Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Ella Kratochvil will lead the offense for the Beavers with a 3.53 kills per set average, placing her fourth in the conference. In addition, she has a very strong .343 attacking percentage (120-28-268). Madison Tripp has the setting duties and has been one of the best in the conference so far with 10.24 assists per set. Ava Athman is another big player averaging 3.29 kills per set and a .363 attacking percentage (112-26-237). Grace Hoffard has a smaller sample size but is eighth in the conference attacking .381 (58-13-118). Ava Boelter leads the Beavers backline with 3.62 digs per set and 123 on the year in total. Bemidji State leads the conference in aces per set (2.41) and opponent attacking percentage (.131).
Minnesota Duluth will be a tough matchup on the road and also the first nationally ranked team the Jimmies will be match up against so far this season. The No. 23 Bulldogs head into the weekend with the same record as Jamestown at 9-1 and 2-0 in the NSIC. Duluth went 7-1 across the Up North Preseason Tournament and the Colorado State Pueblo Tournament with their only loss being a four-set defeat to Fort Lewis College. Just like Bemidji State, the Bulldogs earned road sweeps over UMary and Minot State. Last Saturday against the Beavers, the Bulldogs won each set comfortably at 25-12, 25-13, and 25-14. Madeline Guetzkow had 10 kills, 20 digs, and did not commit an attacking error in 15 attempts. Kenzie Kiminski added nine kills and had two solo blocks.
The Bulldogs in 2025 finished with a record of 18-10 and 11-9 in NSIC play. Duluth finished in a tie for seventh in the conference and was picked in the same spot in the 2026 Preseason Coaches' Poll. The roster for the Bulldogs features some of the top offensive players in the conference through 10 games. Paige Decker averages 3.15 kills per set and her .413 attacking percentage fourth-best in the conference. Elyse Karrels has gotten limited action, but owns a .452 attacking percentage (45-7-84), good for second best in the NSIC. Madeline Guetzkow ranks seventh in kills per set at 3.41 and setter Ava Jones averages 11.5 assists per set, trailing only Ava Nilsson of Northern State University in the conference. Duluth leads the conference in kills per set (14.91) and has the second-best opponent attacking percentage (.141).
Last Time Out
Jamestown and Bemidji State met last season in Harold Newman Arena where the Jimmies secured a five-set win over the Beavers.
Addison Brooke controlled the offense with 14 kills and a .583 attacking percentage (14-0-24).
Caroline Puetz got a double-double with 10 kills and 10 blocks and
Kyleigh Schopp pitched in with eight kills, a .615 attacking percentage (8-0-13), and six blocks.
Momoka Minamiya registered 20 digs and two service aces. The Jimmies had a season-high 13 blocks against the Beavers last year and had their second highest attacking percentage of the season at .308 (59-10-159).
The home match against Duluth was not the same success, with the Jimmies falling to the then-No. 13 Bulldogs in three sets. All three sets were competitive with the scores being 25-19, 25-20, and 25-20 again.
Corbyn Menz and
Mya Foslien each had six kills while Puetz and Schopp had six and five blocks, respectively.
Ava Bertsch had 17 assists and Minamiya led the backline with 13 digs. Jamestown had a tough time attacking in that game with just an .031 percentage (31-27-128) while hitting negative in the first two sets.

After the trip to Northern Minnesota, the Jimmies will be back at Harold Newman Arena to play their travel partner, the Northern State University Wolves on Thursday, September 24 at 6 p.m.
