BROOKINGS, S.D. — The University of Jamestown women's track & field team competed over two days at the SDSU Indoor Classic, held February 13–14 inside the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex in Brookings, South Dakota.
On the track, the Jimmies saw strong performances across the sprint and distance events. Saige Gustafson led the way in the short sprints, clocking an 8.02 in the 60m dash before returning Saturday to post a 26.10 in the 200m. In the 800m, Greta Goven delivered a strong 2:21.51 performance, while Annabelle LaFary added a 2:25.84 effort.
Goven continued her weekend in the 3000m, finishing in 10:50.82. The distance crew capped off competition in the 5,000m, highlighted by Lydia Franson (17:27.66) and Hallie Person (18:05.05). Allyson Goodmanson (18:41.94), LaFary (19:07.11), Kirsten Vander Kooi (19:15.98), and Kari Patterson (19:44.11) rounded out a strong group effort for Jamestown.
In the field events, the pole vault duo of Quinn Bassingthwaite and Ruth Harris each cleared 3.30m (10'10"). Harris also led the Jimmies in the triple jump with a mark of 10.41m, followed by Monica Goven (10.03m).
In the throws, Brenna Held paced the team in the shot put with a mark of 12.37m, while Jecelyn Arends added a 9.96m throw. Held continued her strong weekend in the weight throw, recording a top mark of 15.10m, with Arends contributing a 11.62m performance.
The Jimmies continue to build momentum as they progress through the indoor season, using the SDSU Indoor Classic as another strong step forward against competitive opposition.
