JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The University of Jamestown men's wrestling team hosted Minnesota State on Saturday at Harold Newman Arena, falling 49-0 to the visiting Mavericks.
Minnesota State controlled the dual from the opening whistle, securing victories in all ten weight classes to complete the shutout. The Mavericks' offense was potent throughout the lineup, recording two pins and five technical falls.
The Jimmies' most competitive bout of the evening came at 197 pounds, where
Dane Hartmann dropped a hard-fought 8-4 decision to Grant Cook.
Elijah Nose also avoided bonus points at 133 pounds, battling in a 15-8 decision loss to Chase Beckett.
Minnesota State picked up falls at 141 and 157 pounds, while securing technical falls at 125, 149, 165, 174, and 184 pounds. The dual concluded with a forfeit at 285 pounds.
Jamestown hosts Wisconsin-Parkside Sunday at 2 p.m.
