DICKINSON, N.D. – The University of Jamestown men's wrestling team secured a 31-21 dual victory over Dickinson State University on Tuesday night at Scott Gymnasium, fueled by four pins and bonus-point victories in the upper weights.
The Jimmies started the night with electric energy, jumping out to an early 12-0 lead. Isaac Ronquillo opened the dual at 125 pounds, pinning Pita Fish in 1:35. Elijah Nose followed suit at 133 pounds, needing just 1:29 to pin Charlie Irwin.
After the Blue Hawks got on the board with a fall at 141, William Cook responded for Jamestown at 149 pounds, pinning Hunter Forshee-Kurtz in 5:33 to keep the momentum on the Jimmies' side.
Dickinson State claimed a decision at 157, but Rocker Aguilar delivered a crucial performance at 165 pounds. Aguilar pinned Jesse Van Baalen late in the third period at the 6:50 mark, earning six critical team points.
Jamestown continued to dominate the middle weights. Colton Schaad earned a 4-1 decision over Cutter Jones at 174 pounds, and Hayden Ramaeker secured a major decision at 184 pounds, defeating Jack Simons 11-3.
Dickinson State closed the match with wins at 197 and 285 pounds, but the deficit was too large to overcome as the Jimmies finalized the 31-21 win.
