JAMESTOWN, N.D. -- The University of Jamestown softball team salvaged a split of Saturday's games at the Nelson Family Bubble, defeating Concordia (Minn.) College 2-1 after falling 6-2 to Dickinson State (N.D.) University to start the day.

JAMESTOWN VS. DICKINSON STATE
- Down 4-0 going into the bottom of the third, the Jimmies put together a two-out rally and cut the Blue Hawks' lead to 4-2.
- Trinity Gregg singled and moved to third on Lauren Weigel's double. Maddie Spaeth followed with a double of her own to score Gregg and Weigel.
- Dickinson State added single runs in the fourth and sixth to build a 6-2 lead.
- Jamestown was held to just two hits over the final four innings and unable to complete the comeback.
- Gregg went 2-for-3 from the leadoff spot to pace the Jimmie offense.
JAMESTOWN VS. CONCORDIA
- Concordia's Bayleigh Frye and the Jimmies' Maddie Hairgrove traded zeroes on the scoreboard through the first 5 ½ innings until UJ broke the deadlock in the bottom of the sixth.
- Trinity Gregg started the inning by beating out an infield single, then moved to second after a sacrifice bunt by Lauren Weigel.
- Maddie Spaeth singled to left, scoring Gregg, and took second on the throw home from the outfield.
- After taking third base on a passed ball, Spaeth crossed the plate with UJ's second run as Kayla Quintanilla reached on an error.
- Hairgrove (1-0) faced only two batters over the minimum through six innings, giving up just one hit and two walks while striking out eight for her first win as a Jimmie.
- Hope Ransome allowed an unearned run in the top of the seventh but recorded her third save of the season.
- Frye (1-1) struck out nine batters in six innings, allowing one earned run on four hits.
- Spaeth had two of UJ's four hits, and Amanda Burch had Jamestown's only extra base hit, a double, to lead off the fifth inning.
