Jimmies Fall to Northern State in Straight Sets at Home

Jamestown, ND – The University of Jamestown Women's Volleyball Jimmies were swept in straight sets by the Northern State Wolves on Tuesday night at the Harold Newman Arena.

TOP PERFORMERS

Corbyn Menz (#11): Led the Jimmies with 11 kills, showcasing the most effective offense for Jamestown. She also added 5 digs and 1 assisted block.

Ava Mueller (#15): Contributed 7 kills and had two assists.

Caroline Puetz (#7): Recorded 4 kills and totaled 2 assisted blocks.

KEY MOMENTS AND MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

• SET 1 (25-16, NSU WIN): The Wolves took control early, hitting .400. An early block by Northern State's Schroeder and Brooks established the defensive presence. Despite a kill from Corbyn Menz and a kill from Caroline Puetz, the Jimmies were unable to close the gap.

• SET 2 (25-17, NSU WIN): This set featured four ties. The Jimmies briefly took a 2-1 lead after a kill by Corbyn Menz. However, the Wolves responded with dominant hitting at .440. Corbyn Menz continued to be a bright spot for the Jimmies with multiple kills. A late block by Addison Brooke, Corbyn Menz, and Caroline Puetz kept the Jimmies in the set, but Northern State closed it out 25-17.

• Set 3 (25-13, NSU MATCH WIN): The Wolves maintained high offensive pressure, hitting .359. The Jimmies were plagued by attack errors, allowing the Wolves to pull ahead. A service ace from the Jimmies' Ava Bertsch was not enough to shift the momentum, and the Wolves secured the 25-13 set win to complete the sweep.
