HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jamestown overcame a 4-0 deficit in the first set and gradually built a 19-13 lead after kills by Charlotte Lempka and Aleah Zieske, and an ace from Tenley Buddenhagen. The Trojans closed the gap to 22-18 before UJ won three of the last four points.
- DSU started strong again in set two, taking leads of 5-1 and 10-5. The Jimmies quickly got back into the set after taking four in a row, and from there neither team would lead by more than two. Gracie Adamson's kill tied the set at 21, then a second kill by Adamson followed by one from Lexi Olson helped send the Jimmies to set point. The Trojans got a kill to make it 24-22, but Olson ended things with her second kill of the set.
- Charlee Krieg broke an 8-8 tie in the third set with a kill, and UJ took 8 of the next 12 points to build a 16-12 lead. DSU responded with a 6-0 run that gave them the slight edge at 18-16. From there the teams traded the lead, and the Trojans had one last advantage at 23-22. Two kills by Zieske and a block by Lempka keyed the final rally Jamestown needed to come away with the win.
- Zieske had 15 kills and 5 digs while Olson added 8 kills and 6 total blocks. Krieg and Karlie Anderson both had 7 kills, and Anderson hit a team-high .417 for the match.
- Lily Bertsch had a double-double of 21 assists and 14 digs, and Buddenhagen finished with 20 assists and 6 digs.
- Ellie Holen led all players with 18 digs and chipped in with 5 assists.
