CRETE, Neb.-- The University of Jamestown baseball team's bats were held in check Friday in a doubleheader against ninth-ranked Doane University. The Tigers took both games at Doane Ballfield Complex, 12-0 and 2-1.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS

• Doane took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a solo home run, then tacked on five runs in the bottom of the fourth to go ahead 6-0.
• The Tigers doubled their lead with a six-run bottom of the sixth, and the score ended 12-0.
• Ryan Muizelaar had a pair of hits, including a double. Alex Alva and Jett Nelson had the other Jimmie hits.
• Luke Zimmer (4-2) struck out four in 5 1/3 innings and allowed nine runs (six earned) on seven hits.

GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS

• Doane struck first in game two, scoring a pair of runs in the bottom of the third.
• Jett Nelson led off the top of the fourth with a single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Triston Madison.
• Jackson Bonneville followed with a double, scoring Nelson to make it 2-1.
• Cade Torgerson (6-1) struck out six in 6 1/3 innings while giving up two runs on five hits.
• Madison, Alex Alva, Ryan Muizelaar, and Varen Sabino accounted for the other Jimmie hits.
