JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The Jimmie men's wrestling season saw their first action of the season on Saturday as they hosted the Jimmie Open at Harold Newman Arena.
Chance Robinson finished the day with a pair of wins at 285 pounds. After losing a 7-1 decision to Isaiah Laguna of Sioux Falls (S.D.), Robinson defeated Bismarck State College's Haaken Jacobsen by 12-4 major decision and picked up a forfeit over UMary's Jose Reyes. In his final bout, Robinson lost to Jesse Garcia of Sioux Falls by 13-6 decision.
Other Jimmies with victories on the day included Eli Barajas (125) with a 5-3 decision over Cyler Ruhoff of Sioux Falls and Deklin Goeden (197) with a 5-3 decision over teammate Aden Jorgensen.
The UJ grapplers return to the mats on Saturday, November 9, at the Dakota Wesleyan Open in Mitchell, S.D., beginning at 9 a.m.
