Second-ranked Jimmies down Dickinson State in straight sets

JAMESTOWN, N.D.—After moving up one spot to number two in the latest NAIA Women's Volleyball Coaches Top 25 Rating Wednesday morning, the Jimmie women's volleyball team took to the home court at Harold Newman Arena and defeated Dickinson State (N.D.) University in straight sets, improving to 13-0 overall and 5-0 in North Star Athletic Association play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • A pair of 6-0 runs in the first set propelled the Jimmies to a 20-8 lead on the way to a 25-14 win. Aleah Zieske's four kills paced Jamestown while Charlotte Lempka and Karlie Anderson each had three.
  • Six different players registered a kill in the second set as UJ once again built a 20-8 lead. Lexi Olson's fourth kill of the frame clinched the victory, and the Jimmies outhit DSU .214 to (-.161).
  • Boosted by a team hitting percentage of .824, Jamestown rolled to a 25-6 third set win. UJ had 15 kills and only one error in 17 attempts. Zieske, Tymber Boldt, Maddie Demars and Gracie Adamson all had three kills in the set, while the Blue Hawks managed three as a team.
  • Nine Jimmies had at least one kill in the match, led by Zieske with 9. Olson finished with 6 and Lempka, Boldt, and Demars all had five.
  • Lily Bertsch had 19 assists and Tenley Buddenhagen added 17 in helping Jamestown finish with a .387 hitting percentage for the match.
  • Ellie Holen led all players with 18 digs, followed by Grace Hegerle with 8. Lempka and Charlee Krieg both had a pair of block assists.

FOR THE FOES

  • McKenzie Moser had 4 kills, followed by Scarlette Schwindt, Madi Wahl, and Makyah Albrecht with 3.
  • Rylee Kogolshak passed out 12 assists and Aubrey Allison had 4 digs.
