HOW IT HAPPENED
- Looking to avenge a sweep in Jamestown on September 28, Dakota State maintained a 16-13 lead in the first set before the Jimmies came back to tie the score at 16.
- DSU had the Jimmies down 23-20 but a pair of kills by Charlee Krieg and a block from Charlotte Lempka made it 23-23.
- At 25-25, Jamestown took advantage of a Trojan serving error and an attack error for the set-clinching points.
- Neither team led by more than three points in the second set until Lempka and Aleah Zieske teamed up for a block to make it 14-10.
- DSU got as close as 17-14 and 22-19 down the stretch, but three of the final four points went to the Jimmies for a 2-0 match lead.
- UJ led 2-1 in the third set but it was the Trojans who took command of the rest of the way. DSU opened up a 20-12 lead before taking the set 25-20. The last team to win a set against Jamestown was Viterbo (Wis.) back on September 6.
- The Jimmies played much of the fourth set from behind, trailing by as much as 17-11.
- UJ chipped away and a 6-1 run made it 23-21, forcing a DSU timeout.
- Three ties and three lead changes highlighted the finish of the match. A DSU service error put the Jimmies ahead 26-25, and Gracie Adamson's kill capped off the comeback and sent Jamestown to victory.
- Krieg and Zieske each had 13 kills for UJ. Krieg hit a team-high .414 and made only one error on 29 attacks. Zieske recorded 12 digs for a double-double
- Lempka, Adamson, and Lexi Olson all finished with 9 kills.
