Box Score JAMESTOWN, N.D.— Two touchdowns in eight seconds helped stake the University of Jamestown football team to a 14-0 lead, and the Jimmies went on to take a 21-13 victory over Dakota State (S.D.) University Saturday evening at Charlotte & Gordon Hansen Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Johnny Grann's 2-yard touchdown run capped off a 7-play, 86-yard drive that took 3:52 off the clock and gave the Jimmies a 7-0 lead with 2:13 to go in the first quarter.
- DSU took over on their own 35-yard line after the ensuing kickoff went out of bounds. On the first play of the drive, the snap to quarterback AJ Donovan was fumbled, and UJ's Ezra Belingheri scooped up the ball and returned it 15 yards to the end zone. Aanon Peterson's extra point made it 14-0 with 2:05 left in the quarter.
- Donovan found Austin Lake for a 36-yard touchdown pass to put DSU on the board with 3:15 before halftime, and with 73 seconds left in the half, Carson Sauseda made a 42-yard field goal to cut UJ's lead to 14-10.
- Jamestown received the second half kickoff and added to their lead as Zach Hammett scored on an 11-yard run to make it 21-10. Key plays on the drive included an 18-yard pass on third down from Grann to Colton Schumacher and a 32-yard pass from Grann to Dawson Schmidt that got the Jimmies into the red zone.
- Dakota State had a 14-play drive that chewed up 7:26 of clock end in a 20-yard field goal by Sauseda with 3:34 left in the third quarter, and that would be the final scoring of the contest.
- Jamestown had a slight edge in total offense (296 yards to 283), with 147 of those yards coming on the ground.
- Grann completed 13 passes for 149 yards and was intercepted once. Hammett ran for 74 yards on 21 carries and Carlos Julian had 73 yards on six rushes, including a long run of 54 yards.
- Isaiah Roebuck and Schumacher led Jimmie receivers with 3 catches each.
- Belingheri finished with 8 tackles, followed by Kyle Williams with 7. Tanner Chaffee recorded UJ's only interception of the game.
