Sydney Hollingsworth (SR/San Leandro, Calif.) (women's soccer) and Jean Avitt-Youth (SR/Limbe, Cameroon) (men's soccer) have been named Jamestown Optimist Club Athletes of the Week for the week of August 26-September 1, 2019.

Hollingsworth recorded a natural hat trick with three consecutive goals, all in the second half, in a 7-1 win over York College on Friday on her home turf. All three goals were scored within a span of 6 minutes 22 seconds.

Avitt-Youth threaded a key assist to Aaron Pike (SO/Milton Keynes, England), who sent the ball into the net for the winning goal as the Jimmies defeated University of Mary 2-1 on the home turf on Sunday.

Optimist International is an association of more than 2,900 Optimist Clubs around the world dedicated to "Bringing Out the Best in Kids."
