JC Earns Huge Win over Great Falls

Jamestown earned a huge win over the University of Great Falls at Rotary Field on Sunday.
Great Falls jumped ahead at 34:23 of the first period and kept the 1-0 lead into halftime.
The Jimmies had the wind at their backs in the 2nd half, but it wasn't until late (73:54) that Jamestown tied up the score.
George Gauld scored on an assist from Andres Garcia and the Jimmies and Great Falls would head into overtime.
Going into overtime, Great Falls had nullified Jamestown's leading scorer Dominic O'Connor. However, with 0:44 left in overtime, O'Connor did all the damage he needed to with a crossed ball for an Austin Dillard header to give the Jimmies the victory.
Jamestown had advantages in shots (20-7) and corner kicks (3-1) in the contest. Great Falls was called for 13 offsides, compared to only two for Jamestown.

Jamestown improved to 10-6 on the season and 3-1 in games involving A.I.I. opponents. This was huge as far as the playoffs are concerned as Great Falls was ahead of the Jimmies. Great Falls was ranked 32nd in the October 26 modified RPI (ratings percentage index), while Jamestown was 82nd.
The win improves the Jimmies chances for the playoffs in Utah in November; however, Jamestown still needs to have two strong matches to finish the season.
Since Hamline cancelled a game on Friday in Jamestown, the coaches scrambled to add another match. That match will be at St. John's in Collegeville, Minnesota, on November 1 at 3:30 pm. The next day, the Jimmies will end the regular season at the University of Mary in Bismarck.
Great Falls dropped to 12-4 overall, 5-2 against teams in the A.I.I/Frontier league.
