Jordan Bridges
Jordan Bridges is a 6'2" junior from Farmington, Minnesota. She was initially drawn to Jamestown to play basketball, but also liked the small campus and how nice everyone was on her visit. Jordan commented, "Life as a Jimmie is great and I've met a lot of great people here! Being a student athlete can be a lot of work, but it also helps me learn time management."
Bridges has not taken the easy route … she is Triple Majoring in Accounting, Business Administration, and Financial Planning with Minor in Business Management … and even with some demanding practices and high quality Jimmie basketball competition, she has earned a 3.39 GPA. After graduating with her triple major, she would like to attend grad school at the University of St. Thomas to get a Master's Degree in Accountancy.
Bridges is a big part of the Jimmies back to back school record 27 win seasons and Sweet 16 appearances. This year the Jimmies have played eight ranked teams, going 6-2, and moving up to a third ranked status at one point. Through games of Feb. 5, 2014, Bridges was ranked #9 in NAIA Div II in blocks with 53. She has 68 career blocks, to go along with 393 points, 267 rebounds, and 36 assists. Talking about in inspirational quote, Jordan turned to Mia Hamm, USA Soccer player, "Somewhere behind the athlete you've become, and the hours of practice, and the coaches who have pushed you, is a little girl who fell in love with the game and never looked back... play for her."
Jordan has some favored things in life: Mac N Cheese and Chocolates ("especially cupcakes"), Volleyball and Beach Volleyball, and Ray Allen ("even though he's a traitor and went to the Heat…"). I don't believe she means to mix the chocolate with the Mac N Cheese. Her favorite assistant coach of all-time is her high school volleyball coach Jon Ostgaard.
Jordan Bridges would like to say to Jimmie Nation, "Thanks so much for all of the support and a great college experience so far!"
Here are some of her accomplishments: NSAA Player of the Week (2/11/14) … University of Jamestown Dean's List multiple times, Jamestown Optimist Club Athlete of the Week (12/8/13), All Cattle Classic Team-Concordia Tournament (11/9/13)...Career high 21 points vs Presentation (1/25/14) and career high 6 blocks vs #10 Midland on 12/19/13 - both Jimmie wins...Volunteer at James River Humane Society...Accounting Tutor...and all-around good person!
Best of prayers to Jordan and the Jimmies as they finish this season strong and make a run in the NAIA National Tournament…and for future successes beyond this Jimmie Nation dream life.
