Carly Jensen
Carly Jensen is a 5'8" senior from White Bear Lake, MN. She currently has accumulated 955 career points (220 three's), grabbed 263 rebounds, dished out 135 assists to her Jimmie teammates, and added 113 steals to her resume (through games of 1/20/14).
Carly chose to come to Jamestown because she liked the small campus and how friendly everyone she met here was when she visited; knowing that she would play basketball helped her decision. Now that she is here, she thinks that life as a Jimmie is great; and says that, "most of the people here are good people that actually care about you. Once a Jimmie, always a Jimmie." Her advice for Jimmie Nation is a BIG THANK YOU for "a wonderful experience of college for 4 years! Also, to show a little more support and attend the sporting events and other school events."
Carly Jensen is a Psychology major and her goal after graduation is to find a job that she enjoys, and maybe end up going to grad school if necessary. Once she finds a job, she just might buy some of her favorite foods: watermelon and chocolate. She might try to play some of her other favorite sports in the future: beach volleyball and soccer.
Her favorite athlete is Dwayne Wade (she noted that "I liked him before they won their championships though!"). Her favorite assistant coach was Dave Ashley from her traveling basketball years. She said, "He's probably the best human I've ever met." (If it has to be from Jamestown then she chose Amy Joseph because, "She can be serious and helpful, yet hilarious at the same time.")
Carly's favorite quote is "Be a genuine person. Don't change yourself for anyone, and surround yourself with positive people who embrace who you are."
Carly Jensen has accumulated many honors at Jamestown: A.I.I. (Assoc Independent Institutions) 2013 First Team All-Conference, as well as All-Tournament for the AII Champion Jimmies ... Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete 2012-13 ... NAIA Champions of Character Award for 2012 for Jamestown as they made it to the Sweet 16 ... helped team to Sweet 16 and school record 27 wins consecutive years 2011-13 ... DAC (Dakota Athletic Conf) Scholar-Athlete 2011-12 ... Athlete of Week (AII and Jamestown Optimist)...Psi Chi Psychology Honors Club...UJ Dean's List ...and hopefully a few more this year.
