Get to Know Turo ... 

Who or what inspired you to start playing basketball growing up? 

• Growing up and always being around my older brother playing basketball got me interested into the sport and from there I began to love the sport.     

Do you have any pregame superstitions or routines? 

• I always must go in my compression boots for 45min and listen to music.

Tell us about your favorite basketball moment as a player or fan? 

• My favorite basketball moment as a player was hitting 10 threes in a game when I was a sophomore.

Who is your favorite basketball player? 

• Naz Reid aka Big Jelly 

What is one talent you have outside the game of basketball? 

• Being a photographer.

What do you hope every Jimmie fan says after they see our team play? 

• I hope fans can say we have positive energy during our highest and lowest moments.

Why did you choose UJ and what do you like about being a Jimmie student- athlete? 

• One reason I decided to play at Uj was the positive environment and the constant love and support I get from our coaches and players. One thing I love about being a Jimmie student athlete is the recognition we get from other people on campus.

High School  

Turo played two years of varsity basketball at West Fargo Sheyenne. He helped lead his team to a state championship in 2024. 

Personal  

Turo is the son of Charles and Sarah. He is a psychology major.
