Get to Know Spencer ... 

Who or what inspired you to start playing basketball growing up? 

• My brother played on a travel team when I was young, and I wanted to be just like him. Sooner than later, my dad was coach for our travel team, and I have loved the game ever since. 

Do you have any pregame superstitions or routines? 

• I like to get to the gym early, listen to music and stretch. I always have a bag of trail mix.  

Tell us about your favorite basketball moment as a player or fan? 

• Making the state tournament my sophomore year. 

Who is your favorite basketball player? 

• Lebron James 

What is one talent you have outside the game of basketball? 

• I enjoy playing pickle ball.  

What do you hope every Jimmie fan says after they see our team play? 

• They play for each other and play amazing team basketball.

Why did you choose UJ and what do you like about being a Jimmie student- athlete? 

• I love the Jamestown community and how everyone supports everyone. I love wearing the orange and black every day as well as being with my teammates on and off the court. 

High School  

Spencer Barr had an outstanding high school basketball career at Aberdeen Central where he graduated in 2023. He set the eagles single game scoring record with 51 points in a game. During his senior year, Spencer was awarded First Team All-Conference and First Team All-State honors and was named a finalist for Mr. Basketball. In his sophomore year, he was recognized as Rookie of the Year and helped his team make it to the state tournament, where they won the consolation championship. 

Personal 

Spencer is the son of Ryan and Tiffany. He is majoring in Health and PE with a minor in coaching.
