Get to Know Jay ... 

Who or what inspired you to start playing basketball growing up? 

• My family members that played when I was younger.     

Do you have any pregame superstitions or routines? 

• I pray during the national anthem. 

Tell us about your favorite basketball moment as a player or fan? 

• My sophomore year when I scored my 1000th point at our rival school and beat them in that game.     

Who is your favorite basketball player? 

• Anthony Edwards

What is one talent you have outside the game of basketball? 

• I am really good at catching mini marshmallows in my mouth. 

What do you hope every Jimmie fan says after they see our team play? 

• I hope they say how connected, hard working and good our team is. 

Why did you choose UJ and what do you like about being a Jimmie student- athlete? 

• I chose UJ because it has such a good community feel and everyone here is nice and cares about you. Something I like about being a Jimmie student-athlete is how good our facilities are. 

High School  

Jay graduated from Sauk Centre High School in 2024, becoming the program’s all-time leading scorer with 2,567 points. A 5-time West Central All-Conference selection and 2-time Conference MVP, he also earned All-Area honors five times and was named All-Area Player of the Year twice. Jay was a 4-time All-Section 6AA pick and played in the MNBCA All-Star game. He set the single-season scoring record at Sauk Centre with 661 points and made 280 career three-pointers, helping lead his team to a 62-22 record from 2021 to 2024. 

Personal 

Jay is the son of are Aaron and Ann. He is majoring in biology.
