SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –
Lydia Franson placed second out of 263 finishers, and the University of Jamestown women's cross country team took seventh place out of 20 teams on Friday morning at the Augustana Invitational at Yankton Trails Park.
WOMEN'S RESULTS
Franson was the top NSIC runner, clocking in with a time of 20:38 over the 6-kilometer course. She set a new personal best by one minute, twenty seconds while averaging a 5:32 mile pace.
Hallie Person came in 17
th with a time of 21:23.4, followed by
Allyson Goodmanson in 21
st (21:29.1).
Annabelle LaFary (66
th, 22:31) and
Greta Goven (73
rd, 22:39.4) rounded out the Jimmies' top five.
UJ finished in seventh place out of 20 teams, with a team score of 162. They were 46 points ahead of Washburn and only three points behind NSIC rival University of Mary. Rogers State took the top spot with a score of 81, five better than runner-up Black Hills State.
Katie Hughes of Newman was the individual winner in a time of 20:16.9.
Jamestown will host the annual Jimmie Invite on Friday, October 2 at Parkhurst Cross Country Course.
