BOLIVAR, Mo. — The University of Jamestown men's volleyball team dropped a four-set match to Southwest Baptist University on Friday evening at Meyer Sports Center.
The Jimmies battled throughout the contest but fell to the Bearcats by scores of 25-22, 23-25, 25-14, and 25-18.

Set 1 (Southwest Baptist 25, Jamestown 22):
Jamestown opened the match with strong energy, keeping pace with Southwest Baptist through the early stages. The Jimmies found success offensively behind Chase Hawkinson and Ethan Carroll, while Joshua Crowley added key points to keep the set tight. Midway through, Jamestown created a small advantage with improved serving and controlled play, but the Bearcats responded with a late run, capitalizing on efficient attacking to close out the set.
Set 2 (Jamestown 25, Southwest Baptist 23):
The Jimmies responded well in the second set, putting together one of their most complete stretches of the match. Jamestown established a steady offensive rhythm, with Hawkinson leading the attack and contributions coming from multiple players, including Carroll and Ladarius Williams. The set remained close throughout, but the Jimmies executed in key moments late, using a balanced attack and improved blocking to even the match at one set apiece.
Set 3 (Southwest Baptist 25, Jamestown 14):
Southwest Baptist regained momentum in the third set, jumping out to an early lead and maintaining control throughout. The Bearcats efficient offense limited Jamestown's opportunities, while consistent serving pressure disrupted the Jimmies rhythm. Despite efforts from Jamestown to generate points and extend rallies, Southwest Baptist continued to build separation and secured the set convincingly.
Set 4 (Southwest Baptist 25, Jamestown 18):
Jamestown remained competitive early in the fourth set, staying within striking distance behind contributions from Crowley and Lucas Soeldner. The Jimmies showed resilience with improved defensive play and extended rallies, but Southwest Baptist used a decisive mid-to-late run to create separation. The Bearcats maintained control down the stretch to close out the match.
Statistical Leaders
Chase Hawkinson led Jamestown with 13 kills, while Joshua Crowley and Ethan Carroll each added seven. Rowan Shaughnessy directed the offense with 32 assists, and Crowley contributed across the board with nine total points and solid defensive play.
Defensively, Jackson Holmes and Shaughnessy helped anchor the back row, while Cohen Johnson added presence at the net with multiple blocks.
Jamestown showed strong moments, particularly in the second set, but ultimately could not overcome Southwest Baptist's offensive efficiency.
