Minot State comes into Saturday's game at 1-5 overall, 1-4 in the NSIC. Since then, MSU has lost 37-19 at Bemidji State and 31-24 at home to MSU Moorhead. Last week against MSUM, Minot State went into the half tied at 17, and after trailing 24-17 in the fourth quarter, tied the game on a one-yard run by quarterback Jett Lundeen. However, MSUM put together a 14-play, 75-yard scoring drive that proved to be the difference as they took a 31-24 lead with 78 seconds to play.
Lundeen finished 6 of 15 passing for 62 yards with a touchdown and was intercepted twice. He also had 74 yards rushing on 17 carries. Brandon Hines Jr. ran 18 times for 97 yards and a score, and receiver Matyas Bily pulled down three catches for 52 yards and a touchdown. Jabez Tuaoa led the Beaver defense with nine tackles, followed by Meshach Arthur with seven. Calvin Moore intercepted a pass and Julian Kameristy had MSU's lone sack.
Minot State's offense centers around their ground game. The Beavers have ran the ball 344 times and attempted only 77 passes through six games. Hines Jr. is their leading rusher with 783 yards on 103 carries, and has found the end zone nine times. Lundeen is next with 348 yards rushing, and has completed 27 passes in 65 attempts for 398 yards. Bily leads MSU with catches (10) and receiving yards (156). Austin Young is Minot State's leading tackler with 39 and is one of five players with 31 or more tackles. The Beavers have recorded six sacks and have intercepted six passes, with Moore and Diego Betancourt each picking off a pair.
