The Teams

The Jimmies head into the matchup against UMary still in search of their first 2026 victory,  0-5 overall and 0-4 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Last weekend, UJ hosted Concordia-St. Paul, losing by a score of 31-23.
UJ rushed for a season-high 189 yards, led by Andres Bonilla with 73 yards on 13 carries. Jacob Mattick rushed seven times for 50 yards, and Emilio Matias added 46 yards on eight attempts. Mattick completed 13 of 21 passes for 114 yards and a touchdown, and Gage Solano also threw a scoring pass. Nine different receivers caught a pass, topping the eight receivers with catches a week earlier against Wayne State College. Xander Jarosh led the defense with eight tackles (five solo), Josh Bosacker made six solo stops (seven total), and Alexander Rivera was also credited with seven total tackles.

Jamestown was outgained by CSP in total yards--424 to 334--however, they did out-rush an opponent for the first time in 2026, and recorded at least 139 rushing yards for the fourth time in five games. The Jimmies had just three less first downs (23-20) than the Golden Bears, but after holding the ball for 34:28 against Wayne State College, saw their time of possession fall to 25:43 against CSP.

Mattick continues to pace UJ in total offense. In four games, the Jimmie quarterback has accounted for 393 yards (353 passing, 40 rushing), an average of 98.3 yards per game.  Mason Whitley has 268 rushing yards (67.0 per game) with two scores. Solano paces UJ in receiving yards with 204 (40.8 per game) on 17 receptions. Hoffman has caught 13 passes for 80 yards and a touchdown. Bosacker and Rivera both have a team-high 29 tackles to lead the defense. Bosacker and Jack Young each have 4.5 tackles for a loss, and Jarosh has been credited with five pass breakups.

UMary comes into Saturday's game with a 2-3 record overall, 1-3 in the NSIC. The Marauders have lost their last two games, including 21-14 at Northern State last Saturday. UMary has split both of their away game, winning 13-10 at CSP on September 12, but are 0-2 at home.

The Marauders trailed 14-7 at the half and 21-7 entering the fourth quarter against NSU before adding a touchdown with just under five minutes remaining in the game. Quarterback Ryan Blair threw for 309 yards on 27 of 34 passing with a pair of touchdowns, passing the 300+ yard mark for the second straight contest. Karsyn Jablonski was Blair's favorite target on the day, bringing in 13 passes for 153 yards and a touchdown. Emmanuel Cody was the recipient of Blair's other scoring pass, a 41-yarder that was the Marauders' longest play from scrimmage against the Wolves. UMary's ground game didn't get on track, managing just 71 yards on 28 attempts. Xaiver Brackenridge carried nine times for 31 yards. On the defensive side of the ball,
Cameron Brusven led the way with 13 total tackles (10 solo), and Christopher Federico finished with seven total stops.
