JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The University of Jamestown women's soccer team battled hard but came up short in a 4–0 loss to Winona State on Sunday afternoon at Charlotte & Gordon Hansen Stadium.
The Jimmies kept the match level through the first 45 minutes, with goalkeeper Skylar Lind anchoring the defense and making several key saves. Lind finished the day with eight stops, including six in the second half, as she faced a steady stream of pressure.
Jamestown found attacking moments of its own in the opening period, with looks from Julliet Lopez and Gaby Lopez testing the Warriors' back line.
Winona State broke through after halftime, with Kyleigh Jannisch striking in the 53rd and 60th minutes. Cora Nothem added a third goal in the 68th, and Faith Quinn closed out the scoring in the 89th.
Jamestown will look to build on its strong opening half when it travels to face Dakota Wesleyan on Friday, Sept. 26.
