ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The University of Jamestown women's soccer team battled hard against a strong offensive attack but ultimately fell 2–0 to St. Cloud State on Friday afternoon at Husky Stadium.
St. Cloud State found the net early in the match when Linsey Trapino scored just 5:45 into the first half. However, Jimmies goalkeeper Skylar Lind anchored the defense and made six first-half saves to keep the Jimmies in the contest. St. Cloud State added a second goal in the opening period, with Ellie Primerano striking at the 23:11 mark, assisted by McKenna Breunig and Linsey Trapino. Lind faced a steady stream of pressure throughout the day, finishing with 15 total saves.
Jamestown found limited attacking moments, but players like Hannah Hynek and Vega Canada still managed to register shots on goal for the Jimmies, challenging the Huskies' back line.
Jamestown will look to build on their performance when they travel to face #2 Minnesota State on Sunday, September 28.
