JAMESTOWN, N.D. — The University of Jamestown women's soccer team came up short in a 3-1 setback against Concordia–St. Paul on Friday evening at Charlotte & Gordon Hansen Stadium.
The Golden Bears wasted little time building momentum, striking for three goals in the first half. Nicole Moore opened the scoring in the 16th minute, followed quickly by a finish from Brooke Nelson just three minutes later. In the 32nd minute, Sophia Haase added the third tally with an assist from Lexi Pettit to give CSP a commanding 3-0 advantage at the break.
Jamestown regrouped in the second half and created more chances, outshooting CSP 5-5 in the frame. The Jimmies found their breakthrough in the 69th minute when Langley Grow converted a pass from Mackenzie Sonntag to put the hosts on the board. Despite continued pressure, Jamestown was unable to cut further into the deficit.
The Jimmies are back in action on Sunday, Sept. 21, at Charlotte & Gordon Hansen Stadium
