FAYETTE, Iowa – The University of Jamestown women's soccer team fell on the road to Upper Iowa, 2-0, on Saturday at Harms-Eischeid Stadium. The Jimmies (0-2-0) were unable to find the back of the net despite 14 shots and eight on goal, while Upper Iowa (2-1-1) capitalized on early opportunities.
Upper Iowa got on the board in the 16th minute when Haylee Allen scored off an assist from Haylie Hutchinson, followed by Hutchinson herself scoring in the 24th minute, assisted by Jessica Ancheta. Those two first-half goals proved to be the difference as Jamestown could not mount a comeback in the second half.
Goalkeeper Skylar Lind made five saves in the loss, including four in the first half. Upper Iowa's Sienna Johnson recorded a shutout with eight saves on nine Jamestown shots on goal.
The Jimmies will look to bounce back as they prepare for their next matchup.
