Gracie Fisher has been named the head coach of the Jimmies' ACHA Division 2 women's hockey team, which begins play in the fall of 2025-26.Â
"We are very excited to have Gracie Fisher as the inaugural head of the new ACHA Division 2 women's hockey program here at the University of Jamestown," said ACHA Division 1 women's hockey head coach Hannah Griffin. "Gracie has made a significant impact as a dual-sport athlete here at UJ, and we are confident that her passion for both hockey and the institution will bring great energy and strong leadership to the expansion of the women's hockey program. Her playing experience combined with her most recent coaching experience both at the youth and high school levels, will be instrumental in helping this new program succeed."
Fisher, who was recruited to play softball at UJ, became a dual sport athlete for the Jimmies during her junior and senior seasons after joining the hockey team in 2022-23. A native of Bemidji, Minn., Fisher played four years of softball and hockey at Bemidji High School. She has coached youth hockey and softball since her high school days and is coaching the Jamestown Outlaws 14U softball team this summer.
"I'm really excited to be coaching this team," Fisher said. "I think that being on the inaugural D1 team is really going to help me while coaching this season. Looking back on that season and being able to see first hand the things that worked and the things that didn't will be very beneficial for me."
Fisher recently completed her first season as the assistant girls hockey coach for Jamestown High School and will continue in that position while coaching for the Jimmies.
