The University of Jamestown men's volleyball team  took on the #5 Cornerstone University (Mich.) and Governors State University at the Athletics and Recreation Complex in University Park, IL.The Jimmies could not clinch a victory, suffering two tough losses with scores of 3-0 in both matches.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Jimmies were head to head with the Golden Eagles going on two 2-0 runs to tie the game 5-5 and 9-9   
• The Golden Eagles answered with a 3-0 run to take a 14-11 lead in the first 
• The Jimmies answered back with a kill by Michal Niemiec and an ace by Tomasz Swiderski to come within one 15-14
• But the Golden Eagles outscored the Jimmies 5-1 to win the set 25-18
• In the second set it was a head to head battle but a 4-0 scoring run by the Golden Eagles have them a 11-6 lead and another 3-0 run had the Golde Eagles ahead 14-7
• The Jimmies battled back and with a kill by Michal Niemiec and erros by the Golden Eagles the Jimmies were only behind by two 16-14 
• The Jimmies were able to tie the set 21-21 by a kill by Michal Niemiec but a short 2-0 scoring run by the Golden Eagles lifted them to s set two victory 25-22
• The Jimmies and Golden Eagles were again head to head but a 7-0 scoring run by the Golden Eagles pushed them ahead by four 13-6
• The Jimmies fought hard but could not overcome that scoring run and dropped the set and game 25-17

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The start of the first set was tight but the Jaguars went on a 4-0 run to jump ahead 16-12
• The Jimmies tried to battle back but eventually dropped the set 25-20 
• In the second set the Jaguars were able to take the lead on a 4-0 run capitalizing on errors made by the Jimmies making the score 9-4 and another 5-0 scoring run to make the set 22-12 to take the second set 25-12 against the Jimmies   
• In the third set the Jimmies were again in a tight set but again a 4-0 scoring run by the Golden Eagles left he Jimmies behind 11-7 
• The Jimmies battles back and with a kill and ace by Tomasz Swiderski the Jimmies were behind just one point 14-13
• It was however a 8-3 scoring run by the Golden Eagles that elevated them against the Jimmies giving them the set and the match 25-19
