Mayville, N.D. — The University of Jamestown women's basketball will play in the NSAA championship game after an impressive win against Mayville State University at the Lewy Lee Fieldhouse and finishing with a score of 85-67.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Jimmies started the game on a 4-0 scoring run by two Hannah Hagel two pointers and taking an early lead
- The Comets answered on a 10-4 scoring run to take a 14-19 lead with 3:36 left to play but two buckets by Kate Cordes helped the Jimmies to a 5-0 scoring run to tie the game 19-19 heading to the second
- In the second quarter a pair of Jailyn Martinson free throws gave the Jimmies a two point lead and the Jimmies were in full control
- The Comets did not shoot well behind the arch in the second quarter and a Kate Busek three pointer with 1:19 left before the half gave the Jimmies a 15 point lead 43-28 and the Jimmies entered halftime ahead 43-32
- In the third quarter a three pointer by MACKENZIE HUGHES and a pair of free throws by Jes Mertens brought the Comets within six (43-37) with 7:44 on the scoreboard
- The Jimmies were quick to respond and a three pointer by Samantha Paulsen gave the Jimmies a 17 point lead heading to the fourth
- The Jimmies were in full control the rest of the game and now advancing to the championship game with a final score of 85-67
- The Jimmies had three players in double digits Kate Cordes led Jamestown with 28 points and three assists, Jailyn Martinson had 14 points and Jessika Lofstrom had 13 points
- Kate Busek led the Jimmies with four assists
- Samantha Paulsen had a team high of nine rebounds
