VALLEY CITY, N.D.— The Jimmie women's basketball team led by eight points with just over four minutes remaining, but Valley City State used a 15-4 run to close out the game and take a 77-74 victory Friday evening at W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Jimmies led 20-15 after the first quarter behind 11 combined points from Hannah Hagel and Megan Oswald.
- UJ pushed their lead to nine points early in the second quarter but the Vikings responded with a 10-1 run to knot the game at 25.
- Jessika Lofstrom made a pair of free throws with 4:06 remaining in the first half to start a 10-4 run that gave the Jimmies a 37-31 halftime lead.
- With 3:01 left in the third quarter, Lofstrom's three-pointer extended the UJ lead to 53-41, the largest of the night.
- VCSU finished the third quarter by scoring 10 of the final 14 points to get within 57-51 going to the fourth.
- Samantha Paulsen drained a three-pointer with 4:06 left that made it 70-62, but back-to-back three-pointers quickly brought the Vikings within two.
- The teams traded the lead down the stretch, and Hagel's basket made it 74-73 UJ with 21 seconds left.
- VCSU retook the lead on Elyse Hebrink's bucket 7 seconds later, then forced a Jimmie turnover with 0:07 left to seal the win.
- Hagel led all players with a career-high 28 points and pulled down 9 rebounds.
- Oswald was also in double figures with 12 points.
- Paulsen finished with 8 points and 5 steals. Kate Cordes passed out 6 assists
