Mayville N.D. — In a matchup on Saturday afternoon, the University of Jamestown women's basketball team faced off against Mayville State University but fell short, with a final score of 72-59 at the Lewy Lee Fieldhouse in Mayville, N.D.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Jimmies had a rough first quarter allowing the Comets jump to a 10-0 lead and only shoot 17.6% from the floor
- The Jimmies finished the first quarter trailing big 20-9
- The second quarter was a different story and the Jimmies and two back to back threes and a jumper from Megan Oswald brought the Jimmies within three with 2:56 left in the quarter
- A 2- pointer to end the half left the Jimmies traling by three 28-25
- In the third quarter the Jimmies battled back and a three pointer by Kate Busek with 3:45 remaining left the Jimmies behind only one point
- The Comets seemed to find an answer and closed out the quarter on a 5-0 run to take a seven point lead heading into the fourth quarter
- In the fourth the Jimmies and Comets just traded baskets which prevented the Jimmies from making a comeback dropping the game 71-59
- Kate Cordes and Jayden Wiest led Jamestown with 10 points each
- Cordes also led the Jimmies with seven rebounds and Kate Busek had a team high of three assists and steals
