The University of Jamestown men's volleyball team lost both games against Morningside University and Kansas Wesleyan University in Day 3 of the Pirate Invitational in Parkville, Mo Thursday evening at the Breckon Sports Center

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mustangs started off strong and pulled ahead to a 5-0 scoring run to take the lead
- The Jimmies answered back to get within 2 with a kill by Gaven Hackley and coupled by two errors from the Mustangs to make the game 14-12
- A 2-0 scoring run by the Jimmies with help from errors of the Mustangs tied the set 16-16 but a short 2-0 response by the Mustangs gave them a 25-22 set victory
- In the second set the Jimmies started of strong matching point for point but the Mustangs pulled away going on a 4-0 scoring run to pull ahead 8-4 and again late on a 5-0 run to secure a 25-14 victory
- In the third set the Jimmies started strong again but this time were able to answer with a 4-0 run of their own to make it a 11-9 game led by two kills from Tomasz Swiderski
- The Jimmies came out in the fourth slow but were able to rally to on a 3-0 scoring run led by led kills from Tomasz Swiderski to take the lead 7-6
- The Mustangs answered back to get pull ahead 16-15 but the Jimmie did not roll over and two 2-0 scoring runs lifted the Jimmies to a 26-24 win
- The fourth set the Mustangs came out on 4-0 scoring run but the Jimmies answered back going in a 4-0 run of their own to tie the game 4-4
- The game was a back and forth battle but a 3-0 scoring run by the Mustangs to make the game 16-9 was to much of a stretch for the Jimmies to overcome giving the Mustangs the set 25-20 and the game

- The start of the first set was a back and forth battle but a 3-0 scoring run by the Coyotes to take an 11-9 lead and another to take extend the lead 16-12 gave the Coyotes the set 25-16
- The Jimmies and the Pirates were in a battle to start the second but a short 4-0 scoring run by the Coyotes pulled them ahead 10-7
- The Jimmies answered back going on a 3-0 scoring run with a kill by Ajani Layne bring the game within one 18-17
- A kill by Markam Cook capped off another Jimmie 3-0 run to tie the set 21-21 but a 2-0 run by the Coyotes gave them the set 25-23
- In the third set the Coyotes came out hot on a 4-1 scoring run taking the lead
- The Jimmies responded with a 4-0 run of their own to tie the game 5-5
- The Jimmies and Coyotes traded runs and leads until an ending surge of 3-0 gave the Coyotes the set 25-23 and the game
